Rajya Sabha Chairman Naidu conducts mock session of the House to ensure smooth beginning of Monsoon Session

Chairman of Rajya Sabha M. Venkaiah Naidu investigated the special arrangements made for holding the Monsoon Session of Parliament to commence from Monday, September 14.

A mock session of the House was held with him in the Chair. The staff of the Secretariat occupied the Chamber and the four galleries of the House. The seating arrangements were marked while keeping in view the social distancing norms. Staff members sat in and participated from the Chamber of the Lok Sabha, which became part of the House for the entire session. 

Naidu advised the Secretariat senior officials to ensure that all the Ministries of Home and Health & Family Welfare guidelines are being followed very meticulously. He also instructed the officials to remind Hon’ble Members of the health protocols observed by them before and during the upcoming session through an advisory.

Naidu reiterated the need to get every member of staff connected with the functioning of the House tested. The officials said that testing processing was on for the last two days.
