Arjun Awardee, Padmashree Awardee Bula Choudhary, flagged off a Fit India Freedom Run event at the Netaji Subhash Eastern Centre. The regional center of Sports Authority of India in Kolkata had organized the run. Choudhary is also a former national women’s swimming champion who became the first woman to swim across five sea channels.
“Fitness is needed not only during this Covid-19 situation but also after the situation improves. If you are fit, your family will be fit, and in the process, India’s whole will be fit. Everybody should do some fitness activities daily,” Choudhury said during the event.
The purpose of the Fit India Freedom Run was to spread awareness of physical activity and fitness’s importance. All the staff members, officers, coaches, and Regional Director in Charge Vineet Kumar attended the run.
