The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Indian Institute of Public Administration organized Two Days ‘National Tribal Research Conclave through video conferencing. Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda chaired the conclave. About 120 participants nationwide, including State Tribal Welfare Ministers, State Tribal Welfare Secretaries, Tribal Research Institute Directors. Centers of Excellence, along with Officers of Ministry and Indian Institute of Public Administration, attended the meet and shared their tribal research & development views.
Munda praised the initiatives taken by various partners/stakeholders with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He also announced that an agreement had been signed between the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Indian Institute of Public Administration to set up a National Tribal Research Institute. This Agreement would help in better coordination and management among Tribal Research Institutes. It would go a long way in the growth of tribal research, resulting in evidence-based planning and tribal areas development.
Munda emphasized developing a village-level livelihood framework so that villagers can understand World’s Demand, be trained on e-commerce, brand management, and product marketing to play a vital role in Prime Minister’s Visionary initiative “Aatm-Nirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal for Local Campaign.”
Govind M Kajol, Tribal Welfare Minister, Karnataka, Sathyavathi Rathod, Tribal Welfare Minister, Telangana, Alo Libang Hm, Tribal Welfare Minister, Arunachal Pradesh welcomed the initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and briefed Munda about their state-specific issues.
